QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: VBMP Protest Camp Against Enforced Disappearances Continues for 6,315th Day
The protest camp set up in front of the Quetta Press Club by the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) against enforced disappearances in Balochistan continued for its 6,315th day.
People from various walks of life visited the protest camp to express solidarity with the families of missing persons.
In a statement issued on the occasion, VBMP Chairman Nasrullah Baloch demanded that the government and relevant institutions immediately recover all forcibly disappeared persons, present them before courts of law in accordance with legal procedure, and ensure justice for their families.
The statement said that enforced disappearances in Balochistan, particularly the forced disappearance of Baloch women and cases of extrajudicial killings, require serious attention. It called for effective and practical measures to end such incidents in order to ensure the protection of citizens’ fundamental human and constitutional rights.
He said the purpose of the protest camp is to convey the voice of the families of forcibly disappeared persons to the relevant authorities and to continue the peaceful struggle for the safe recovery of missing persons. The organization reaffirmed its commitment to continuing the protest until there is practical progress toward recovering all missing persons and ending enforced disappearances.
