QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: Unidentified armed men shot and killed Muhammad Hashim Norzai, the owner of one of Quetta’s most popular restaurants “Kabul Jan,” in the early hours of Saturday morning, police confirmed.

According to police, the incident took place in the jurisdiction of Airport Police Station near Usmani Hotel on Kuchlak Bypass, when Norzai was travelling alone from his home in Wazirabad Kuchlak toward the city in his personal Vigo vehicle.

Armed attackers opened indiscriminate fire on his vehicle as he drove through the area. The assailants successfully fled the scene following the attack.

Police confirmed that multiple bullet marks were found on the victim’s Vigo vehicle following the attack. A doctor at Civil Hospital Quetta, who examined the body, stated that Muhammad Hashim Norzai had been struck by three bullets one to the head and two to his arms. According to the doctor, the bullet to the head proved fatal and Norzai died on the spot.

In a detail that has drawn serious concern, eyewitnesses at the scene stated that police arrived at least one hour after the attack took place. By the time officers reached the location, Muhammad Hashim Norzai had already died. His body was subsequently transported to Civil Hospital Quetta by a friend, not by law enforcement.

The motive behind the killing remains unclear at this stage. The victim’s family informed police that Muhammad Hashim Norzai had no known enemies and was not involved in any personal or business disputes. Investigators have collected evidence from the scene and have opened a formal investigation into the killing.
