BLF Claims 15 Security Personnel and One ‘State Agent’ Killed in Eight Separate Operations Across Balochistan

QUETTA: The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) claimed responsibility Tuesday for eight separate armed operations conducted across six districts of Balochistan between May 13 and May 19, asserting that 15 Pakistani security personnel and one alleged state informant were killed, a police station was seized and set ablaze, and a mobile surveillance tower was destroyed.

The claims were issued in a formal statement by BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch.

According to the BLF statement, fighters targeted Frontier Corps (FC) personnel in the Kargeet Dakk area of Goburdh Mand on May 19, attacking with heavy automatic weapons. The group claimed two FC personnel were killed and two wounded, with remaining personnel fleeing the scene.

The BLF claimed its fighters launched an ambush on a Pakistani army convoy in the Mainaz area of Buleida on May 19, attacking from multiple directions with heavy and automatic weapons. According to the statement, three soldiers were killed and two injured, with convoy vehicles sustaining heavy damage. BLF fighters targeted two vehicles transporting precious stones from Naal in the Waheer area of Wadh on May 19, firing on the vehicles and bursting their tires. The group claimed drivers were released after being warned against participating in what the BLF described as the transportation of Balochistan’s national resources.

The BLF issued a warning in its statement to all transporters, contractors, and drivers to avoid what it called the illegal transportation of Balochistan’s resources, stating they would be held responsible for consequences if they continued.

BLF Further siad that, its most significant operation of the week, fighters claimed to have ambushed a Pakistani military convoy in the Shareki area of Mashkay on May 18, killing seven personnel on the spot and wounding several others.

According to the statement, a second unit of fighters simultaneously targeted reinforcement personnel arriving to assist the convoy, causing additional casualties. The BLF also claimed that Pakistani forces deployed a quadcopter in an aerial counter-response, which the group said its fighters shot down and neutralized.

The BLF claimed its fighters struck a Pakistani army infantry convoy advancing between the Hotan and Marha Sham areas of Kolwah on May 18, attacking from multiple directions. The group named three soldiers it claimed were killed Sepoy Adnan, Arif Ali, and Iftikhar Ahmad and said two others were wounded. The BLF claimed Pakistani forces failed to advance and were forced to retreat.

On May 18 at approximately 5:00 PM, BLF fighters claimed to have established a blockade on the main highway in the Padag area of Chagai, maintaining control of the road for several hours while searching passing vehicles. The group said the operation’s objective was to monitor state machinery movements and maintain what it described as military control in the area.

In a separate action described as a continuation of the same operational campaign, BLF fighters claimed to have attacked and seized the Wadh Police Station, taking it under complete control. According to the statement, military and government resources, official records, and machinery inside the station were set ablaze and destroyed before fighters withdrew.

On May 17, BLF fighters claimed to have set ablaze a Ufone mobile tower in the Kandhi area of Rakhni Barkhan, alleging that surveillance devices and cameras installed by intelligence agencies to monitor local residents’ movements and communications were completely destroyed in the operation.

In a separate targeted operation on May 13 in the Mainaz area of Buleida, the BLF claimed its fighters killed a man identified as Rashid, son of Rasheed, of Sulo, Buleida, whom the group described as an operative of a state-affiliated death squad.

The BLF said that the individual had provided intelligence assistance to security forces during military operations and was involved in drug trafficking and extortion under army protection. A Kalashnikov was seized from the victim.

The group also stated that a second individual, Ismail, son of Safar, of Sulo, Buleida, was wounded during the same operation as he was accompanying the targeted individual.
