Second Attack on Gorrak Dam Project in Days as Fighters Target Vehicle in Kharan

KHARAN, BALOCHISTAN: Baloch fighters carried out a second attack on the Gorrak Dam project within days, opening fire on a project vehicle after it attempted to flee a checkpoint on Basima Road in the Killi Sarawan area of Kharan.

According to sources, the fighters set up a checkpoint on Basima Road and began stopping and checking vehicles in the area. When a vehicle belonging to the under-construction Gorrak Dam project attempted to flee the checkpoint, fighters opened fire on it. Three non-local individuals were travelling in the vehicle at the time of the attack. No casualties have been reported so far.

This is the second attack targeting the Gorrak Dam project within a matter of days. In a previous incident, Baloch fighters had detained another vehicle belonging to the same project along with its staff members.

It is worth noting that the Gorrak Dam is under construction on the directions of the Pakistani military.

No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
