QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: The sit-in protest staged by the family of disappeared Khadija Baloch entered its 14th consecutive day on Tuesday, as family members continued their demonstration despite intense heat, demanding her safe recovery.
The protest, held at the BMC (Bolan Medical Complex) chowk, has been ongoing since its launch by Khadija Baloch’s family, who are calling on authorities to recover her safely and disclose her whereabouts.
According to sources close to the protesters, instead of addressing the family’s demands, state authorities have been issuing threats to pressure them into silence. The family has firmly rejected any such pressure and vowed to continue the sit-in until Khadija Baloch is safely recovered.
Protesters said that if the state genuinely wants the sit-in to end, the only solution is the safe recovery and return of Khadija Baloch.
Khadija Baloch is among the many Baloch activists and civilians whose cases have been raised by human rights organizations in connection with enforced disappearances in Balochistan. Her family’s prolonged protest in extreme weather conditions has drawn attention to the urgency of her case.
No official statement has been issued by authorities regarding her whereabouts or legal status.
