QUETTA, BALOCHISTAN: The protest camp organized by Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) against enforced disappearances entered its 6,153rd consecutive day on Thursday outside the Quetta Press Club, marking one of the longest-running peaceful demonstrations in Pakistan’s history.

The sit-in, led by VBMP Executive Committee member Niaz Muhammad, drew fresh solidarity visits from Comrade Manzoor Ahmed Baloch, Khudaye Rahim and several other activists, who registered their protest and renewed demands for the immediate recovery of all missing persons.

Addressing the gathering, Niaz Baloch said the prolonged peaceful campaign is fundamentally a struggle for human survival.

“Forcibly disappearing any individual outside the bounds of the constitution and law, withholding information from their families and denying them their legal rights is not merely a violation of the law, it is a crime against humanity,” he said.

He added that the organization strongly condemns all such actions and reiterates its demand for an immediate end to enforced disappearances and the safe return of all missing individuals.

“VBMP’s peaceful and constitutional struggle for Baloch survival and human dignity will continue,” Niaz Baloch said.

The VBMP has been holding the continuous sit-in since its inception, making it a symbol of the broader movement against enforced disappearances in Balochistan, an issue that has drawn repeated criticism from human rights organizations including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch.
