
PANJGUR, Balochistan: Unknown armed assailants targeted Pakistani security forces personnel in the Parom Gomazi area of Panjgur, in a coordinated ambush on troops deployed to provide escort security for a military convoy.
According to sources, the security personnel had arrived at an unoccupied post in the area as part of convoy protection duties when attackers, who had reportedly been lying in wait, launched a sudden assault on their position.
The attack is described as intense in nature, with reports indicating casualties among the security personnel. However, no official confirmation of any loss of life or injuries has been issued by the authorities at the time of publication. Regional sources also report that a Pakistani forces quadcopter drone was destroyed during the attack.
No group has claimed responsibility for the assault so far, and the identity of the attackers remains unknown.
