Washington D.C.: An assassination attempt took place during a dinner held in honor of White House media representatives in the presence of President Donald Trump. The president remained unharmed, and the attacker was apprehended.

According to U.S. media, a loud noise was heard during the dinner at the Hilton Hotel, causing brief panic due to security concerns. Secret Service agents quickly escorted President Trump out of the event.
The dinner had just commenced when President Trump was shown a note similar to one previously shown to White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt causing surprise among attendees, including a woman seated next to the president.
More than 2,600 people were attending the event. After the gunfire, attendees took cover under tables. A security official at the dinner reported that seven to eight shots were fired. The suspected attacker was taken into custody.
President Donald Trump later confirmed on social media that the attacker had been “arrested.”
Following the incident, President Trump addressed the press briefing room, stating, “I can’t imagine a more dangerous profession.”
