QUETTA: The protest camp organized by the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) against enforced disappearances in Balochistan continued on its 6,125th day on Sunday outside the Quetta Press Club.
During the day, individuals from various walks of life visited the camp and expressed solidarity with the families of missing persons, sharing in their grief and concerns.
On the occasion, VBMP Chairman Nasrullah Baloch stated that enforced disappearances remain a serious humanitarian issue that has caused immense suffering, uncertainty and distress for thousands of families. He emphasized that it is the responsibility of state institutions to either produce the missing persons or, if there are allegations against them, present them before the courts.
He further added that peaceful protest is a constitutional and democratic right and that their struggle will continue until the recovery of their loved ones.
VBMP has urged the government and relevant authorities to immediately end the practice of enforced disappearances and to recover missing persons, in order to alleviate the suffering of their families.
