PARIS: The Chairman of the Baloch National Movement, Dr. Naseem Baloch, has condemned the continued enforced disappearance of Zahid Baloch, former Chairman of the Baloch Students Organization (Azad), and his colleague Asad Baloch, who were abducted by the Pakistani military on March 18, 2014.

In a statement shared on the social media platform X, Dr. Naseem Baloch said that 12 years have passed since their disappearance years marked by silence, suffering and a complete denial of justice. He emphasized that the families of Zahid and Asad Baloch have endured immense anguish, remaining in the dark about their fate and whereabouts.

Dr. Naseem Baloch highlighted that their abduction is part of a systematic policy targeting political activists, students, and intellectuals in Balochistan. “Enforced disappearance has become a tool of repression aimed at crushing peaceful political voices and instilling fear across society,” he stated.

He strongly condemned the continued detention of the two leaders without charge, trial, or legal recourse, calling it a blatant violation of international human rights law. He stressed the urgent need for accountability and intervention by the international community.

Dr. Naseem Baloch urged the United Nations Human Rights Council and the global community to take immediate notice of the ongoing crimes and to pressure Pakistan to:

  • Reveal the whereabouts of Zahid Baloch and Asad Baloch
  • Ensure their safe release
  • End the practice of enforced disappearances in Balochistan

He concluded by stressing that the struggle for justice and human rights in Balochistan continues, and that the international community cannot remain silent in the face of such violations.
