PARIS: The Chairman of the Baloch National Movement, Dr Naseem Baloch, has strongly condemned the circulation of a video showing a Baloch woman, Farzana Baloch, alongside Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, calling the incident part of a systematic campaign to silence Baloch activists.

In a statement shared on the social media platform X (Twitter), Dr Naseem Baloch said the video features Farzana Baloch who was reportedly abducted on December 1, 2025 being made to accuse activist Dr Sabiha Baloch of acting as a handler for suicide bombers. He described the incident as highly condemnable, stating that it is not an isolated case but part of a broader effort aimed at targeting and discrediting Baloch human rights activists.

Dr Naseem Baloch noted that Dr Sabiha Baloch has long faced pressure due to her peaceful activism. According to him, authorities previously abducted her father in an attempt to force her to abandon her human rights work. He further stated that the woman shown in the video was herself reportedly abducted and kept incommunicado for months. Subjecting a disappeared individual to prolonged detention and torture in order to obtain a statement, he said, represents a serious violation of human rights and an act of coercion.

The BNM chairman added that such incidents reflect a broader pattern in Balochistan where enforced disappearances are used not only to silence individuals but also to turn victims against other activists. “These tactics are intended to spread fear, create mistrust within society, and weaken peaceful movements advocating justice,” he said.

Dr Naseem Baloch rejected the allegations made against Dr Sabiha Baloch and urged the United Nations Human Rights Council and the international community to take urgent notice of the situation in Balochistan and hold those responsible for human rights violations accountable.
