KHUZDAR: A bomb blast targeting Pakistani forces was reported in the Karkh area of Khuzdar, Balochistan, resulting in casualties among the personnel.
According to local sources, the explosion occurred when security forces were attempting to advance on foot in the area. The blast reportedly caused losses to the forces; however, authorities have not yet issued any official details regarding the incident.
For the third consecutive day, Baloch armed groups are said to have maintained control of the CPEC route in Karkh. Eyewitnesses reported that fighters have set up checkpoints at various locations and are conducting snap checking.
A local resident said that a day earlier, forces fired several mortar shells from their posts, which landed in different areas. Despite the shelling, the CPEC route reportedly remains under the control of the armed fighters.
Earlier, the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) claimed responsibility for attacks in the area. According to the group, during snap checking in Karkh their fighters detained Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Anwar Muhammad Hassani.
The group also claimed that two individuals linked to Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI were killed after attempting to escape during the snap checking.
