ZEHRI: A curfew has been imposed in Zehri, a tehsil of Khuzdar, reportedly by Pakistani security forces, bringing daily life in the area to a standstill.

According to local sources, all movement has been restricted, with public transport suspended and business centers and markets completely shut down. Residents have been confined to their homes, and routine activities have been severely disrupted.

Following the imposition of the curfew, locals are facing an acute shortage of essential commodities. Access to flour, milk, vegetables, medicines, and other daily necessities has reportedly become limited. The situation has particularly affected daily wage earners, who are struggling financially due to the closure of businesses and the halt in economic activity.

Residents say that the restrictions have compounded difficulties during the holy month of Ramadan, urging authorities to ease the curfew on humanitarian grounds so that people can procure basic supplies. They also reported challenges in transporting patients to hospitals due to movement restrictions.

It is worth noting that Zehri had previously remained under a month-long curfew, during which reports of drone strikes and resulting casualties had surfaced, creating an atmosphere of fear in the region. Meanwhile, a curfew reportedly remains in place in Nushki as well, where residents are said to be facing similar hardships.
