
Khuzdar: A woman was forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces during a raid in the Gazgi area of Khuzdar, Balochistan, according to family sources.
Reports state that on February 18, security personnel raided a residential house and took into custody an elderly woman identified as Hayat Bibi, a resident originally belonging to Mashkay Nokjo. Family members say she was shifted to an undisclosed location, and no official information has been provided regarding her whereabouts.
According to relatives, Hayat Bibi’s husband, Fazal Karim, and her two sons, Nawaz and Dad Shah Fazal, have also previously faced enforced disappearance at different times from Khuzdar and Hub Chowki.
Further reports indicate that on February 8, during separate raids in Hub, seven more members of the same family were detained and moved to undisclosed locations. The disappeared individuals have been identified as Abdul Rab, Muhammad Rahim, Abdul Razzaq, Abdul Malik, Shahzaib, Jahangir, Shah Mir and Nooroz.
Family members claim that a total of 11 individuals from the same family have been taken into custody and transferred to unknown locations. However, no official statement has been issued by authorities regarding their detention or place of confinement.
It is noteworthy that in recent days, reports of enforced disappearances have also emerged from various parts of Balochistan as well as Karachi, raising concern among human rights organizations.
