Quetta: A mother who had spent fourteen years waiting for the recovery of her forcibly disappeared son has passed away without seeing his return.

Her son, Gul Muhammad Marri, son of Bahar Khan Marri, was taken into custody by Pakistani forces on August 7, 2012, from Quetta and subsequently subjected to enforced disappearance. He never reappeared.

Over the years, the grieving mother staged sit-ins and protests in Quetta and Islamabad, demanding the safe recovery of her son. She also pursued his case before commissions and courts, continuing her struggle for justice for fourteen years.

Despite her persistent efforts and protests, her son was never brought before a court nor returned home. Family members say she passed away while still waiting for her son’s recovery.
