QUETTA: Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch has announced that the organization’s modern aerial and drone warfare unit, named “QAHR” (Qazi Aero Hive Rangers), has formally become operational and has successfully completed its initial operations during what it calls Operation Herof II.
According to the spokesperson, QAHR represents a new phase in the BLA’s military development aimed at aligning the Baloch resistance with modern warfare requirements. The statement described the unit as part of the organization’s broader strategic vision to advance resistance through planned, scientific, and sustainable methods rather than reactive measures. The unit has been named after senior commander Abdul Basit Zehri, also known as Qazi, who, according to the statement, emphasized technology, research, and institutional development within the movement and played a significant role in the establishment of QAHR.
The spokesperson stated that the unit’s first practical operations were carried out during Operation Herof II. Among these, coordinated drone attacks on Gwadar Port were highlighted as the most notable. The statement claimed that military infrastructure, port installations, and communication structures were targeted, resulting in casualties and material damage. It described the attacks as militarily significant and as marking a new phase in the Baloch national movement.
The statement further said that the use of drone technology has provided the organization with long-range strike capabilities, as well as the ability to monitor and target sensitive locations. It added that modern warfare now extends beyond ground operations to aerial and cyber domains, and that QAHR represents the organization’s entry into these spheres.
According to the spokesperson, drone operations conducted on various fronts during Operation Herof II created pressure on opposing forces, affecting their morale, mobility, and response capacity.
The BLA stated that the QAHR unit will remain a key component of its future strategy and that its operational scope will expand to include intelligence support, communications networks, and coordination with ground units.
The statement concluded by asserting that national resistance movements can only remain sustainable if they compete in intellectual, scientific, and technological domains. It described QAHR as the beginning of what it called a new era in its struggle, characterized by aerial capability, informational control, and technological capacity.
