Panjgur: Pakistani security forces have transferred 17 bodies to the Teaching Hospital in Panjgur, claiming the individuals were killed during an encounter.
According to a senior local journalist, the bodies were brought directly to the hospital by Pakistani forces. Officials later informed police that the deceased were killed in a clash during an ongoing security operation in the area.
Sources said the identities of the deceased have not yet been established, and legal formalities are currently underway. No detailed official statement has so far been issued regarding the circumstances of the incident.
Several of cases, according to the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP), were previously registered with the organization after families reported their relatives as missing. VBMP has repeatedly raised these cases with Pakistani authorities, demanding either the release of the missing persons or their production before courts.
Similar concerns have also been raised by human rights organizations and political activists, who have questioned official narratives in past operations and called for independent investigations into extrajudicial killings in Balochistan.
It is noteworthy that in previous instances, when Baloch armed groups announced major operations or carried out heavy attacks on Pakistani forces, families of missing persons accused security agencies of killing individuals who were already in custody and later presenting them as militants. Families have consistently rejected official claims, stating that their loved ones had been forcibly disappeared by state forces prior to such operations.
