Karachi: The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has shifted its press conference to an online platform after police and security forces blocked access to the Karachi Press Club.

The press conference was scheduled to mark January 25 as the Day of Remembrance Against Baloch Genocide and to present the committee’s annual report on human rights violations in Balochistan.

Upon arrival, BYC members found the roads completely sealed off by authorities, preventing them from entering the venue. The committee condemned the move, saying it reflects the state’s ongoing efforts to suppress peaceful political advocacy and deny the Baloch nation a platform to raise its concerns.

“These actions show that all constitutional platforms have effectively been made a ‘forbidden fruit’ for the Baloch nation,” a BYC spokesperson said.

As a result, the press conference will now be held live on BYC’s Facebook page at 5:00 PM today. The committee urged the Baloch nation and concerned citizens to stay connected online and continue raising their voices against state injustices.
