KHARAN: The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has released a statement detailing a major operation in Kharan city, claiming that its fighters, known as sarmachars, conducted a coordinated attack that resulted in the capture of the city police station, the seizure of government weapons and the deaths of over 50 military personnel, while dozens were injured, including Colonel Wadhan and Major Asim. The BLF also confirmed that some of its sarmachars were martyred during the operation.

According to the statement, Our sarmachars conducted the operation under organizational strategy on January 15 at approximately 2:30 PM, taking control of the entire Kharan city. At the start of the operation, a team of our freedom Fighters attacked the Kharan City Police Station, took all personnel hostage, seized government weapons, military equipment and released dozens of prisoners. Following the operation, damage was reportedly inflicted on the police station building, government records and police vehicles.

Simultaneously, another unit of Sarmachars targeted Kharan’s main bazaar, including National Bank, Meezan Bank, Al Habib Bank and other key financial institutions, claiming to inflict heavy losses. The statement mentions that a bank security guard was killed during the incident and that operatives of Death Squad chief Shahid Gul Mulazai were attacked, resulting in injuries to Abdul Hakeem and Ghulam Hussain.

To safeguard the operation, the BLF statement says that its subsidiary Qurban Unit established a checkpoint at the Red Zone and launched a heavy attack on a military convoy of three vehicles, killing 15 military personnel, destroying the vehicles and seizing weapons. Despite being injured, Qurban Unit Commander Abdul Razaq, alias Barag Jan, reportedly remained on the front lines until the end.

The statement further claims that another military detachment attempting to recover bodies at the Red Zone was targeted, leading to a three-hour clash in which 27 additional military personnel were killed and many others wounded. Two armored vehicles were destroyed and the remaining forces reportedly retreated.

In the evening, at 7 PM, the BLF statement says a large Pakistani army convoy, including an SSG commando battalion, advanced in the Kulan area of Kharan. Another unit of sarmachars reportedly launched an attack from close range, which continued until 1 AM. The statement claims three military vehicles were destroyed, dozens of personnel were killed or injured including eight SSG commandos and weapons and equipment were seized.

During this clash, Qurban Unit sarmachar Sangat Hafeez, alias Yasir Baloch, was martyred. The statement also highlights the role of the Sniper Tactical Squad, a BLF subsidiary unit, which targeted and shot down eight quad-copters, including a military sniper shooter.

After completing their objectives, the BLF statement says its sarmachars withdrew to safe zones. It adds that subsequent aerial attacks in mountainous areas, including two drone-fired missiles, led to the martyrdom of Captain-rank sarmachar Mubeen Baloch, alias Mulla Raheem and sarmachar Mohsin Baloch, alias Mureed. The BLF reportedly recovered and buried the bodies of three out of four martyrs.

The statement claims that in total, over 50 military personnel, including Naib Subedar Shaukat, were killed and several others, including Colonel Wadhan and Major Asim, were wounded. A detailed statement on the martyred sarmachars will reportedly be released later.

The Balochistan Liberation Front accepted responsibility for the Kharan operation and reaffirmed its commitment to continue attacks on military, economic, financial, communications, and governmental systems until Balochistan’s independence, the statement concludes.
