
The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) has claimed that its fighters took control of Kharan city during a coordinated operation, targeting police stations, banks and other government buildings.
In a statement, BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said that on Thursday afternoon, January 15, BLF fighters entered Kharan city in an organized manner, traveling in convoys of dozens of vehicles and motorcycles. He said multiple positions of what the group described as “occupying forces” were targeted during the operation.
According to the spokesperson, BLF fighters attacked the Kharan City Police Station and temporarily took control of it. He claimed that security forces were pushed back following clashes with the fighters.
The BLF further stated that its fighters entered the central market area, where banks and other key government installations were targeted, causing heavy damage. The spokesperson said the objective of the operation was to disrupt and paralyze the economic and administrative infrastructure of the state.
Major Gwahram Baloch added that a detailed statement regarding the operation would be released soon.
