
Quetta: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for a series of coordinated attacks across Sibi (Sanni), Quetta, Kech, Panjgur, and Buleda, alleging that 12 Pakistani security personnel were killed while three BLA fighters lost their lives during the operations.
In a statement issued to the media, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said the group’s fighters carried out multiple assaults targeting what it described as occupying forces. The operations included temporarily taking control of areas, seizing supplies, and engaging Pakistani forces in prolonged clashes.
According to the statement, BLA fighters on Sunday took control of parts of Panjgur city, occupied government buildings, and established positions at multiple locations. The spokesperson claimed that security forces attempted to advance but were pushed back due to effective resistance. During the clashes, one official of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) was killed and two others injured. The group said its fighters maintained control for about two hours before withdrawing safely.
The BLA further claimed that its fighters targeted a convoy linked to the Reko Diq project near Kalat Midway, setting three vehicles on fire. The convoy was reportedly under military protection, and the group said that security personnel escorting it also suffered casualties.
In another incident on December 14, the spokesperson said BLA fighters engaged Pakistani forces in the Sachi area of Dasht, Kech, when security personnel attempted to advance in the area. The statement claimed prolonged fighting resulted in casualties among the Pakistani forces and that a quadcopter used by the military was shot down during the clash.
The group also claimed that on December 13, its fighters seized ration-carrying vehicles in the Minaz area of Buleda that were transporting supplies for the military. The drivers were reportedly released after being warned. The statement reiterated the group’s position that transporting supplies for security forces constitutes facilitation.
The spokesperson said that on December 9, clashes in the Sanni area of Kachhi resulted in the killing of four security personnel, while several others were injured. The BLA said one of its fighters, Sofi Ismail, was killed during the fighting.
Another clash was reported by the group on December 14 in Deghari, Quetta, where BLA fighters came under attack while traveling for organizational work. The spokesperson claimed that security forces attempted to surround them using civilian vehicles, leading to a prolonged exchange of fire. According to the BLA, seven security personnel were killed in this incident, while two BLA fighters were killed.
The statement also included biographical details of the three deceased BLA fighters.
Sangat Ismail alias Sofi, son of Deen Muhammad Jatoi, hailed from the Sanni area of Kachhi. He had been associated with the Baloch Liberation Army for the past two years and served on the Mastung and Kachhi fronts. Known for his discipline and steadfastness, he was regarded as a source of strength for his comrades in difficult circumstances. His family has a history of sacrifice, as his brother Farooq Jatoi was martyred in 2016.
Sangat Ismatullah Satakzai alias Siraj, son of Takari Ayaz, belonged to the Deghari area of Quetta. He joined the Baloch Liberation Army in 2024 and served on the Bolan, Quetta and Mastung fronts. By profession a shepherd, he lived a simple life and was known among his fellow fighters for his quiet courage, resilience and unwavering commitment.
Sangat Sajjad Zehri alias Sarang, son of Muhammad Aslam Zehri, was a resident of Khuzdar. At just 20 years of age, he joined the Baloch Liberation Army about one year ago and served on the Bolan, Mastung and Quetta fronts. Despite his young age, he was recognized for his sense of responsibility, eagerness to learn, and practical bravery, earning respect among his peers.
