Quetta: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for three separate attacks in Mastung, Mand and Quetta, alleging that 11 Pakistani soldiers were killed and one captured alive, while three BLA fighters were martyred during the operations.
In a statement issued to the media, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said the attacks were carried out on December 7 in different areas, targeting Pakistani forces.
According to the statement, in the Zehri Gate area of Dasht, Mastung, BLA fighters ambushed Pakistani forces as they were advancing toward a local settlement. The BLA claimed that eight Pakistani soldiers were killed on the spot and several others injured, while one soldier identified as Sepoy Zafarullah son of Jhanda Khan was captured alive. The spokesperson said that the military used helicopters, quadcopters and surveillance systems during the clash, but BLA fighters shot down two quadcopters and one surveillance camera. The clash reportedly continued for more than two hours. During this encounter, BLA fighter Dad Khuda Marri alias Rehan was martyred after sustaining critical injuries.
On the same day, BLA fighters attacked the main military camp and the residence of a colonel-rank officer in the Mand area of Kech district. The spokesperson claimed the attackers used rocket launchers and automatic weapons to target the main gate, security posts and internal positions of the camp. According to the claim, three Pakistani soldiers were killed and two injured and additional military equipment, including a quadcopter and a surveillance camera, was also destroyed.
The statement further said that on the same night, BLA fighters carried out a hand grenade attack on a military check post near Zaraat Colony in Quetta, causing what the group described as “significant losses” to Pakistani forces.
The BLA spokesperson confirmed that three of its fighters were martyred during these operations, identifying them as: Qasim Arman Baloch alias Alma, Dad Khuda Marri alias Reha and Azifa Baloch alias Ganjal. The statement included detailed background information about all three martyrs, highlighting their roles and sacrifices within the organization.
The spokesperson said the BLA “salutes all its martyrs” and reiterated the group’s commitment to continue its operations against the Pakistani state, adding that actions would continue as long as Pakistani forces remain in Balochistan.
