
Dubai: An Indian Air Force (IAF) Tejas fighter jet crashed during an aerial demonstration at the Dubai Airshow on Wednesday, resulting in the death of the pilot. The incident occurred during a scheduled performance, prompting the immediate suspension of all further flying displays.
According to the Dubai Airshow administration, a comprehensive investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the crash. The crash site has been sealed and forensic teams are collecting evidence, while debris from the aircraft is being cleared under strict safety protocols. Rescue and firefighting teams reached the scene within minutes of the incident.
Organizers stated that safety procedures for the airshow have been tightened and participating teams have been instructed to review flight routines as part of precautionary measures. Ground exhibitions continue as scheduled, but aerial demonstrations remain halted until further notice.
The Indian Air Force has also announced an internal inquiry into the incident. In a statement, the IAF confirmed that the Tejas aircraft went down during an aerobatic maneuver, leading to the pilot’s death. Officials said the probe will focus on technical data, flight conditions, and aircraft maintenance logs.
