
Turbat: A convoy carrying Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kech, Bashir Ahmed Badaich, was targeted in a bomb attack in Turbat. According to police, the incident occurred on Thana Road as the DC was traveling from his home to his office.
Sources said the explosion was carried out using a remote-controlled bomb fitted to a motorcycle. DC Bashir Ahmed Badaich remained unharmed, but ten people, including nine Levies personnel, were injured. The condition of two of the injured is reported to be critical.
The injured have been identified as Levies personnel Shabbir Ahmed son of Gul Muhammad, Nizamuddin son of Nazar Muhammad, Raja Ahmed son of Allah Dad, Abdul Ghaffar son of Muhammad Hussain, Bilal Ahmed son of Arbab, Saddam Hussain son of Noor Muhammad, Abbas son of Abdul Nabi, Naseer Ahmed son of Abdul Manan, Mazar son of Wahid Bakhsh and a passerby, Adeel Ahmed son of Huzoor Bakhsh.
Levies and police forces reached the site immediately after the explosion and shifted all the injured to the Teaching Hospital Turbat.
Preliminary reports indicate that one of the vehicles in the DC’s convoy was severely damaged, while three nearby vehicles also sustained damage. The blast occurred in an area known for vehicle trading.
Officials have initially stated that the explosion was triggered through a remote-controlled device. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
