Turbat: In protest against the recent decision of the Balochistan Assembly to dissolve the Levies Force and merge it into the police, Levies personnel in Turbat held a rally on Saturday and staged a demonstration at Shaheed Fida Chowk.
A large number of Levies personnel participated in the rally, chanting slogans against the proposed merger with the police. The participants said that the Levies Force has always played a vital role in maintaining law and order in Balochistan, preventing crime at the local level, upholding traditions, and ensuring timely justice.
During the protest, the personnel paid tribute to the sacrifices of Levies martyrs and described the force as a brave local institution. They termed the decision to merge it with the police a conspiracy.
The protesters urged the government and relevant authorities to recognize the services and sacrifices of the Levies Force and to retain it in its existing form.
