Quetta: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for a series of attacks targeting Pakistani security forces and their alleged local collaborators in different parts of Balochistan, including Kalat, Panjgur, Turbat and Mach.
In a statement issued to media outlets, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said that the group’s fighters carried out six separate operations over recent days, including assaults on security outposts, roadside bombings, and a checkpoint blockade along a main highway.
According to the statement, BLA fighters attacked a Pakistani military post in the Zawa area of Kalat, using rockets and other heavy weapons. The attack reportedly left two soldiers dead and several others injured, forcing remaining personnel to abandon their positions.
The spokesperson further claimed that the same day, the group’s fighters established a checkpoint on the Manguchar highway, which remained in place for more than an hour. During the operation, a man identified as Zahoor was detained by BLA members for interrogation, with a decision about his fate to be made by what the group calls its “national court.”
Jeeyand Baloch added that on September 30, BLA fighters targeted a Pakistani military convoy on the CPEC route near Sabzaap, Panjgur, with a remote-controlled IED. The explosion reportedly killed four soldiers and injured four others.
The group also claimed responsibility for the killing of Lukmeer, identified as an intelligence operative, in Hironk, Turbat, on Friday. According to the BLA, the deceased was affiliated with a “state-backed death squad” accused of aiding military operations, facilitating enforced disappearances, and intimidating local residents.
The statement alleged that Lukmeer had been involved in extortion, drug trafficking and the mistreatment of civilians and was recently implicated in a fatal vehicular attack on a family in the Shapuk area of Kech.
In a separate incident the same day, BLA fighters targeted a police station in Mach with a hand grenade attack.
The spokesperson concluded by reiterating that the organization would continue its operations “until the complete withdrawal of occupying forces from Balochistan.”
