Sughra Bibi, an orphan girl from the outskirts of Khuzdar’s Koshk area, alleged during a press conference at Khuzdar Press Club that she was abducted by her neighbor, Osama and subjected to severe torture and sexual assault.
She arrived at the press club accompanied by her mother, siblings and relatives. Her mother raised the Holy Quran on her head, pleading for justice.
According to Sughra Bibi, the incident took place when she was on her way to a tailor with her younger sister. At that time, the accused Osama allegedly forced her into a vehicle and abducted her. She further claimed that during captivity, the accused gave her intoxicating substances, physically assaulted her and raped her. A few hours later, she was left in a severely deteriorated condition.
During the press conference, Sughra Bibi stated: “I am an orphan girl. If I am not given justice, I will accept death. This is not just my issue but a matter of honor for the entire Baloch nation.”
Her mother and other relatives alleged that the accused is influential and that the police are not showing seriousness in arresting him. They appealed to higher authorities to ensure justice for the victim; otherwise, women will continue to face insecurity.
Police officials, on the other hand, said that a case has been registered on the victim’s complaint and investigations are underway, but the accused has not yet been arrested.
This incident highlights the alarming rise in crimes against women in Khuzdar and the growing sense of insecurity, which has also sparked deep concern among local circles.
