Karachi: Protest Camp for Enforcedly Disappeared Student Zahid Ali Baloch Continues for 10th Day

Karachi: The protest camp set up outside Karachi Press Club demanding the recovery of 25-year-old enforcedly disappeared student Zahid Ali Baloch from Liyari continued on Thursday for the tenth consecutive day.

According to family sources, Zahid Ali Baloch was taken into custody by state agency personnel on the evening of July 17, 2025, around 5:30 PM while waiting for a ride in Karachi. Since then, he has been enforcedly disappeared. Even after 29 days, no information has been provided about his arrest or whereabouts.

Zahid’s father, Abdul Hameed Baloch, said that if there are any charges against his son, he should be presented in court according to the constitution and law. He added that enforced disappearances are an unbearable trauma for any family.

Family members and social activists participating in the protest camp appealed to human rights organizations, the media, the higher judiciary and justice-minded citizens to play their role in ensuring the immediate recovery of Zahid Ali Baloch.
