The practice of enforced disappearances by Pakistani forces and intelligence agencies continues across various districts of Balochistan, with four young men recently taken into custody and missing since.
According to details, on July 31, personnel from Pakistani intelligence agencies detained Javed Baloch, son of Imam Dad, from Azizabad Cross in Kalat. Javed, a resident of Nicharah in Kalat, has not been seen since his arrest, his family said.
In Noshki, Frontier Corps (FC) personnel detained Kamran, son of Haji Habibullah, on August 2. He also remains missing.
Meanwhile, in Kech, Dad Shah, son of Wahid, a resident of Tump Tejaban, was taken into custody on August 4 from Jusak Bazaar by personnel from Pakistani forces, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), and intelligence agencies. He was reportedly moved to an undisclosed location and no information about him has been available since.
In Washuk, on July 31, Abdul Karim, son of Mir Haji Hasil Khan, was detained by Pakistani forces and intelligence personnel. He, too, has been missing since.
Enforced disappearances have been a long-standing issue in Balochistan, but rights activists say incidents have increased notably in recent months. Families and human rights groups report that in several cases, the mutilated bodies of missing persons have been recovered, adding to the gravity of the situation.
Rights organizations have repeatedly called for an end to enforced disappearances, demanding that missing persons be produced in courts and justice be provided to the affected families.
