Kalat / Kharan, Balochistan: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for a coordinated preemptive strike in the Bencha area of Kalat district along the Quetta–Karachi RCD Highway, as well as for three consecutive bomb attacks targeting the office of the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Rakhshan Zone in Kharan.
According to a statement released by Azad Baloch, spokesperson for the BLA, the Bencha operation was launched at 9:00 PM on July 12, as part of a broader strategic campaign aimed at undermining the control of what the group describes as “occupying forces and their local collaborators.”
“The strike was designed to disrupt and suffocate key ground positions through calculated preemptive maneuvers and precise operational planning,” the BLA said.
The BLA reports that it established combat-forward positions in Bencha and set up multiple control and screening points along the RCD Highway, maintaining dominance over the area for approximately four hours despite reported infiltration attempts by Pakistani forces and allied militias.
A military convoy approaching from Khuzdar was allegedly engaged with modern weaponry, resulting in the killing of three personnel and injuring several others, according to the BLA. The group claimed that the convoy retreated shortly after the engagement.
The statement emphasized the use of “hit-and-run” tactics and adherence to a “Safe Engagement Doctrine (SED)”, purportedly to minimize civilian casualties and ensure operational safety for BLA fighters.
On July 13, BLA fighters reportedly carried out three consecutive bomb blasts targeting the DIG Rakhshan’s office located near the Sheikh Mosque in Kharan city.
According to the group, the targeted DIG is accused of acting as a “military facilitator,” allegedly pressuring local Baloch police officers to suppress the national movement through coercive measures
The BLA reiterated its commitment to the continuation of its armed campaign, stating:
“We will persist in this war until the establishment of a free and independent Balochistan.”
These claims follow a recent uptick in insurgent activity across southern and central Balochistan, with multiple separatist groups targeting both military and paramilitary positions.
