A major armed assault targeted a convoy of Pakistani security forces in the Nondara area of Jhao, located in Awaran, Balochistan. According to local sources, the ambush occurred around 1:00 PM near Azim Goth, where assailants opened fire and launched explosive attacks on two military vehicles and several motorcycles.
The intensity of the attack was such that the area echoed with gunfire and explosions for nearly thirty minutes. Following the initial assault, additional reinforcements arriving in armored vehicles and on motorcycles were also ambushed by the attackers. Multiple security personnel are reported to have been killed or wounded, though no official statement has yet been issued by the authorities. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
The incident marks yet another escalation in a series of persistent attacks on Pakistani forces across Balochistan. Armed Baloch separatist groups have frequently claimed responsibility for similar assaults in the region, though this particular attack remains unclaimed at the time of reporting.
Meanwhile, in the Zamuran area of Kech, a large-scale military operation by Pakistani forces is underway. Security personnel reportedly entered villages such as Dashtok, Kotan, Delekak and Karochi, conducting ground operations with a significant number of troops. No reports of casualties or arrests have been confirmed so far.
In a separate incident in Dera Bugti, a powerful explosion targeted a member of a pro-military militia commonly referred to as the “death squad.” The blast occurred in Pirkoh, seriously injuring Commander Rahim Bakhsh Nosani Bugti, who was subsequently moved to a hospital for medical treatment. No group has claimed responsibility for this attack either.
The developments reflect the ongoing unrest in Balochistan, where targeted attacks and military operations have intensified amid continued tensions between separatist factions and state security forces.
