Mashkay: Tortured Body of Enforcedly Disappeared Man Found, Allegedly Killed by Pakistani Forces

In Balochistan’s Awaran, the tortured body of a man who had been taken into custody by Pakistani forces was found dumped after allegedly being killed while in their detention.

According to sources, the victim has been identified as Qadir Bakhsh, son of Herzi, a resident of the Khandari area of Mashkay. He was reportedly abducted from his home around 2 a.m. last night by Pakistani forces along with operatives from their affiliated death squads. His body was recovered earlier today.

Local reports suggest that Qadir Bakhsh was in poor health at the time of his abduction. After being taken into custody, he was brought toward the local bazaar area and then killed shortly after.

Sources further confirmed that Qadir Bakhsh had previously been subjected to enforced disappearances multiple times by Pakistani forces. During those abductions, he was brutally tortured and later released.

This killing follows a pattern of increasing targeted violence across Balochistan, where Pakistani forces and their proxy death squads have been accused of targeting and extrajudicially executing young Baloch men. Earlier the same day, in a separate incident in Panjgoor, Zeeshan Zaheer son of long-time enforcedly disappeared Zahid Baloch was abducted and killed.
