Balochistan: Four Killed in Separate Shooting Incidents

At least four people were killed in separate shooting incidents across different areas of Balochistan, highlighting the region’s ongoing unrest and deteriorating security situation.

In the provincial capital Quetta, a political activist was gunned down in the Hanna Urak area. According to police, unidentified assailants riding a motorcycle opened fire on Najib Kakar, killing him on the spot. The body was handed over to the family after necessary formalities. Party sources confirmed that the deceased was a former official and active member of the Jamhoori Watan Party. A case has been registered, and investigations are underway.

In another incident, tribal leader Mir Kamran Jatak was killed in Khuzdar by unknown gunmen. According to reports, Jatak, son of Sardar Shakar Khan Jatak, was present at a local hotel in the Chamrok area when armed attackers opened fire on him. He sustained multiple bullet wounds and died on the spot. Police took custody of the body and shifted it to a hospital.

Meanwhile, in the Mande Haji area of Tehsil Mangochar, Kalat district, the body of an unidentified youth was recovered. Levies sources said the body bore signs of torture, and the cause of death is being investigated. The corpse has been shifted to RHC Mangochar for further procedures.

Additionally, in the Malakabad area of Tehsil Tump in Kech district, unknown motorcycle-borne attackers shot and killed a man on Thursday evening. The deceased was identified as Abdullah, son of Muhammad Jan. According to police, the assailants managed to flee the scene. Initial investigations are ongoing to determine the motive behind the killing.
