Quetta, Balochistan: The sister of two forcibly disappeared young men, Muhammad Ishaq and Abdul Razzaq, made a heartfelt appeal during a press conference at the protest camp of Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP), urging the authorities to bring her brothers back before the trauma kills their mother.
Accompanied by her family and VBMP Chairman Nasrullah Baloch, she revealed that her brothers were abducted by armed personnel from Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and other state forces on the night of May 24–25 at around 2:00 a.m. The raid took place at their residence in Mengalabad, Sariab Custom area on Sibi Road, Quetta. She says the men in black uniforms stormed the house, claimed it was for interrogation, and took the brothers away before the eyes of their terrified family.
“My brother Muhammad Ishaq is a driver, and Abdul Razzaq is a student. They are not criminals. If there is any accusation, why not bring them to court?” she asked, her voice trembling with pain. “Several days have passed. We’ve received no information. No legal notice. Just silence.”
She described the heartbreaking condition of their mother, who has fallen into a state of mental shock. “Since their disappearance, our mother cries day and night. She has stopped eating and speaking. We are force-feeding her small amounts just to keep her alive. But we fear, if this continues — she may suffer a heart attack or stroke.”
Holding the government and state agencies responsible for the trauma, she warned: “If anything happens to our mother, the blame will lie solely on those responsible for the disappearance of her sons.”
She called on the judiciary, human rights organizations, and civil society to raise their voices and intervene. “We are not asking for favors. We are demanding justice under the law. If my brothers are guilty, produce them in court and let the law decide. But if they are innocent, set them free.”
At the same conference, Nasrullah Baloch, Chairman of VBMP, addressed Balochistan’s Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti directly. “The families of the disappeared are citizens of this country. The enforced disappearance of Muhammad Ishaq and Abdul Razzaq is a blatant violation of the Constitution. As the constitutional head of this province, it is your legal and moral duty to act. Bring justice, not silence.”
