QUETTA: The protest camp organized by Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) outside Quetta Press Club continued for the 5,840th consecutive day today, highlighting the ongoing issue of enforced disappearances in Balochistan.
On this occasion, the families of two recently disappeared individuals, Mohammad Ishaq and Abdul Razzaq, submitted their cases to the organization.
Shad Bakht, the mother of the missing brothers, reported that both her sons—Mohammad Ishaq and Abdul Razzaq, sons of Israel were abducted in the early hours between May 24 and 25. She stated that armed personnel from the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and other security agencies raided their home in Mengalabad, Saryab Customs area of Quetta at around 2 AM, and took her sons away in front of her eyes without any legal warrants.
Shad Bakht further said that at the time of the arrest, the personnel assured her that her sons were only being taken for questioning and would be released shortly. However, she has not received any information about their whereabouts or condition since then, leaving the family in a state of deep distress.
VBMP officials assured Shad Bakht that the case of her sons would be raised at all relevant forums, including the provincial government, the Commission on Enforced Disappearances, and the United Nations Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances.
Nasrullah Baloch, Chairman of VBMP, appealed to the provincial authorities to immediately take notice of the enforced disappearance of Mohammad Ishaq and Abdul Razzaq. He urged the government to ensure their safe recovery and relieve the suffering of their family.
