Pakistani forces have forcibly disappeared two individuals in Balochistan — one a minor student from Gwadar and the other a resident of Dera Bugti.
According to sources, on May 18, 2025, Pakistani forces took into custody Abdullah Abid, a minor student, from Gwadar and subjected him to enforced disappearance. Abdullah hails from the Bal Negwar area of Dasht Tehsil in Kech district and was residing in Gwadar for his education. He was detained and moved to an unknown location, and his whereabouts remain undisclosed since then.
In a separate incident the same day, Pakistani forces and personnel of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) subjected Haider Bugti, son of Jangu Bugti, to enforced disappearance from his home in Bugti Colony, located in Sui Tehsil of Dera Bugti district.
The Human Rights Department of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), known as PAANK, strongly condemned the continued practice of enforced disappearances in Balochistan, especially the targeting of students and minors.
The organization stated that such acts are not only violations of national and international laws but also exacerbate the pain and suffering of the Baloch people.
