In Turbat’s Dank area of Balochistan, families have alleged that three young men killed in a recent clash with Pakistani security forces were buried in an un-Islamic and secretive manner. This revelation has sparked outrage among the families and the local community.
On Tuesday morning, women from the affected families identified suspected graves in the Aslam Shah Cemetery and demanded that the district administration hand over the bodies of their loved ones.
According to sources, the women began exhuming the graves themselves, claiming the burial sites are mass graves of their sons who were killed last month in the clash. They alleged that the bodies were buried quietly without informing the families.
The protesting women stated they managed to exhume at least one body in order to re-bury it according to Islamic rites and Baloch cultural traditions.
The families further alleged that security forces and local police were obstructing the exhumation process, causing them severe psychological and practical difficulties.
