The Baloch Women’s Forum (BWF) Kech held its general body meeting under the chairmanship of central organizer Dr. Shali Baloch. The meeting was attended by special guest and member of the central committee, Shehnaz Baloch.
The agenda of the meeting included discussions on the central circular, organizational development, the regional and global political landscape, and future planning. Key sessions were conducted focusing on foundational strategies, and dialogue was held in light of the recent central circular.
Addressing the forum, central leadership emphasized the need to unite Baloch women under the ideology of Baloch nationalism. They stressed the importance of organizing women through BWF and preparing them to resist all forms of oppression in the current changing environment.
“Our struggle is not rooted in mainstream feminism,” one speaker noted, “but in pure Baloch nationalism.”
They further added that both Baloch men and women are working with equal ideological strength and resisting all kinds of injustices.
Referring to the current era, the leadership said that even political movements are under crackdown, yet Baloch women have carved their space within leadership ranks and are fearlessly raising their voices—similar to the roles played by women during British colonization in India.
“Our struggle is rich in diverse traditions, and Baloch women have played significant roles throughout history,” the speakers noted. “Everyone must speak up and contribute wisely and actively instead of staying silent. In Balochistan too, we must think in terms of fundamental rights and awaken the masses.”
The forum highlighted Kech as the land of resistance leaders like Ghulam Mohammad, Kambar, and Kareema, who sacrificed their lives for the Baloch nation and became symbols of defiance. The Baloch Women’s Forum, they said, is responsible for working on the political education of women so they can contribute meaningfully to the national movement.
As part of the future plan of action, a new organizing body for BWF Kech was formed. Sabira Baloch was elected as Organizer, Hawa Baloch as Deputy Organizer, and Mah Ganj Baloch, Gulshan Baloch, and Basma Baloch were appointed as organizing committee members.
