Sammi Deen Baloch, a leader of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee, stated that the illegal detention of Dr. Mahrang Baloch and Beebow Baloch under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (3MPO) has been extended for another 30 days.
She said that over the past several weeks, the family and companions of Dr. Mahrang Baloch have knocked on every legal door, followed every constitutional path, and appealed at every available forum. But everywhere they were met only with disappointment, silence, and indifference. The courts turned a blind eye, the justice system looked the other way, and instead of delivering justice, state institutions constantly reminded them, as if deliberately that they are not considered citizens of this country.
She added that by imprisoning peaceful political voices, the state is sending a clear message, there is no value for nonviolent struggle here. In this system, force is preferred over reason, and oppression is chosen over justice.
Sammi Deen Baloch emphasized that when constitutional paths are blocked and laws begin to favor the oppressors, the state itself erodes the public’s belief in peaceful resistance. By consistently shutting the doors to justice, the state convinces the people that legal and peaceful avenues are mere illusions. And once trust in nonviolent struggle is lost, that void is inevitably filled with anger, unrest, and backlash.
She concluded by saying that the issue of Balochistan is a political one and must be addressed politically through dialogue and negotiation. But if those who choose peaceful political struggle are thrown into jails, it is tantamount to closing the doors to peace. The question remains: when you close the peaceful doors, where exactly are you pushing the people toward?
