Quetta: Advocate Shari Baloch, daughter of the veteran Baloch pro-independence leader Ustad Wahid Qambar, has expressed deep concern over her father’s deteriorating health, urging immediate international attention and medical assistance.
In a message posted on the social media platform X, Shari Baloch said, “I am extremely worried about my father’s health. He is unwell and in urgent need of medical treatment.”
Referring to a recent statement by Pakistan’s Army Chief Asim Munir, who reportedly said that “ten generations of the Baloch nation will be crushed,” she added, “Such statements have only deepened my fears about the brutality being unleashed against my father and the Baloch people.”
Shari Baloch called on the international community to intervene, saying, “I appeal to global institutions and humanitarian organizations to raise their voices against his illegal abduction and to stand with the Baloch nation in the struggle for justice.”
It is worth noting that Ustad Wahid Qambar was reportedly abducted by Pakistani intelligence agencies on July 19, 2024, from Shir Kerman, Iran, where he had been residing for medical treatment. He was subsequently transferred to Pakistan.
The 73-year-old Ustad Wahid Qambar has been associated with the Baloch national struggle since the 1970s. He was previously subjected to enforced disappearance in 2005 from his hometown and remained missing for several years. Now, once again, he is a victim of enforced disappearance.
