Quetta: Advocate Israr Baloch has alleged that a group of masked individuals forcibly entered his home in Quetta around noon today, holding his younger brothers hostage while repeatedly questioning them about his whereabouts.
According to Advocate Israr Baloch, the intruders ransacked the house, confiscated several books, and discarded some of them outside. Before leaving, they issued threats to his family.
He further stated that his family has been facing continuous harassment for nearly a month. “We are being forced to report to the FC camp regularly, where we are repeatedly told to convince me [Israr] to refrain from political activities. They threaten that if I don’t withdraw from political participation, the consequences will fall on me and my entire family”.
Advocate Israr Baloch believes this intimidation is directly linked to his legal work. “I have been providing legal support to activists of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) and other civilians targeted after the recent crackdown on human rights activism. My family and I are being harassed solely for my legal advocacy”.
He held the state and its institutions fully responsible should any harm come to him or his family. “We will not be silenced by such tactics. Our fight for truth and justice will continue,” he asserted.
