The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) organized protest rallies across Balochistan on Sunday against the arrest of Dr. Mahrang Baloch, Sabghatullah Shah Ji, Beebow Baloch, Bibgar Baloch, and other activists. A large number of women, children and locals participated in the demonstrations.
Protesters declared that the arrests of political workers, enforced disappearances, human rights violations, and exploitation of Balochistan’s resources are unacceptable. They emphasized that the arrest of brave individuals like Dr. Mahrang Baloch cannot suppress the struggle for justice.
In a rally held in Turbat, speakers stated that the government is trying to silence voices through force, but the Baloch people remain determined to fight for their rights and will continue their struggle under all circumstances.
Speakers further said that the crackdown against BYC cannot suppress the voice of truth. Neither arrests nor enforced disappearances can extinguish political movements. In fact, the more aggressive the state becomes, the stronger and more organized national movements grow. BYC will continue to raise its voice with even greater intensity.
They declared that Dr. Mahrang Baloch is no longer just an individual she has become the spirit of the Baloch nation and the identity of Balochistan. If the state believed that her arrest would silence the Baloch national movement, it has made a grave miscalculation. Every Baloch has now become a spokesperson for Mahrang. She lives within our spirits and our spirits will never remain silent.
Despite efforts by police to harass, assault, and arrest BYC protesters, the rallies were held successfully with massive public participation.
