No Investment in Balochistan is Safe, Learn from China’s Experience. Dr. Allah Nazar Baloch

Dr. Allah Nazar Baloch, leader of the Balochistan Liberation Front, has issued a stark warning to international investors, emphasizing that Balochistan is under occupation by Pakistan, which is committing severe human rights violations in the region. He asserted that any investment under these conditions is not only unsafe but also morally and legally questionable.

He highlighted that the Baloch nation is actively engaged in a systematic struggle for freedom against this occupation and any foreign investment will be viewed as an organized action against this movement. Investing in Balochistan without the consent of its people is neither sustainable nor secure.

Dr. Allah Nazar underscored that Balochistan is a conflict zone where the Baloch people are vigorously fighting for their independence and sovereignty. This conflict spans the entire region and is intensifying daily.

He accused the occupying Punjabi forces and Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI, of implementing a “kill and dump” policy against the Baloch people, leading to widespread atrocities. The discovery of mutilated bodies and daily enforced disappearances have become routine, affecting every household in Balochistan.

Dr. Allah Nazar further pointed out the severe media blackout in Balochistan, which keeps the world uninformed about the realities on the ground and the grave human rights violations occurring there. He emphasized that the Baloch people are a vibrant, conscious nation making significant sacrifices for their land, identity and freedom.

He noted that in just one month, over two dozen Baloch youths were martyred in areas like Mashkay, Barkhan, Buleda and Nushki, with hundreds still missing. This pattern of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings has persisted for decades.

Dr. Allah Nazar stated that Balochistan is currently a war-torn region where severe human rights violations are a daily occurrence. In such an environment, international investors exploiting Balochistan’s natural resources, particularly minerals and coastlines, under the aegis of an occupying state, are merely risking their capital. The land and its resources rightfully belong to the Baloch nation.

He urged the global community and investors to learn from China’s experience, where investments without the consent of the local population faced intense public resistance. Pakistan’s bureaucracy, government and military cannot protect these investors, nor can any project succeed against the will of the Baloch people. He cited Barrick Gold Corporation’s investment in Reko Diq as an example, suggesting that the company and its global partners may not fully grasp Balochistan’s sensitive political situation, the Baloch nation’s struggle for freedom and Pakistan’s status as a “banana republic.”

Dr. Allah Nazar concluded by warning investors, institutions and states worldwide to avoid squandering their investments in Balochistan. The Baloch nation is sacrificing daily to protect its land, resources and coastlines. These sacrifices send a clear message that investment in Balochistan is impossible without the consent and approval of the Baloch people.
