The central organizer of Baloch Women Forum, Dr. Shali Baloch, has said in her statement that Balochistan is a land of suffering and sorrow. From the beginning until now, the people of this region have been left with no choice but resistance. Mahrang Baloch is a name that will echo through generations not only is she writing the story of struggle for her time, but through her fearless character, she is teaching both present and future generations that no matter how harsh the circumstances, we shall never bow before oppression.
She stated that Mahrang has been in custody for several days now, which has always been the fate of true public leaders but this captivity has never weakened them in the past, nor will it now. Instead, these chains will only make her stronger and shape her into an even wiser and more visionary leader in the days to come. Thanks to the state prisons, which have always gifted the Baloch nation with its finest political characters those who endured imprisonment. Her incarceration proves that she is walking on the righteous path of public welfare.
Dr. Shali Baloch expressed that it is deeply unfortunate that while personalities like Mahrang are celebrated around the world for standing up for the basic human rights of their people, the situation in Pakistan is the exact opposite. Here, one is offered a comfortable and luxurious life, but only on the condition that they abandon the voice and representation of their people. However, for someone like Dr. Mahrang Baloch, such perks and privileges mean nothing when it comes to her people and her land.
She added that with her upright character, Mahrang Baloch has become a beacon of hope. She is a symbol of Baloch resistance and human rights on the global stage an identity she has earned through tireless struggle. The state and its infamous institutions may believe that by imprisoning her, they have silenced a powerful voice of Baloch rights but they fail to understand that each day of her captivity gives birth to thousands of new Mahrangs, who will continue to bring positive change to the lives of the Baloch people.
In conclusion, she said that Mahrang’s release is not only her basic right but also exposes the ugly intentions of the state, which seeks to silence every voice capable of changing the future of the Baloch people. “I demand the immediate release of Dr. Mahrang Baloch from the government and its masters, as her arrest has already created deep alienation among the people. Whether they admit it or not, Dr. Mahrang Baloch is the true representative of the Baloch people.”
