The body of 28-year-old Abdul Malik, son of Muhammad Yousaf, a resident of Kohing in Kalat, who was forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces from Turbat on October 11, 2024, was found last night from Baghbana, Khuzdar. Security forces claimed that Abdul Malik was killed in an armed clash with personnel and his body was later dumped in Baghbana.
However, the family members and local residents have strongly rejected the official version, maintaining that Abdul Malik was a victim of enforced disappearance and was murdered in a staged (fake) encounter.
According to sources, the family was contacted a day earlier and told to come and collect Abdul Malik, giving them the impression he was alive. When they arrived, authorities handed them a paper and asked them to sign it. Being uneducated and unaware of the document’s contents, the family signed it, after which they were handed Abdul Malik’s dead body instead of their living son.
His body was later buried in his native town of Kalat.
It is worth noting that following Abdul Malik’s disappearance, his family staged multiple protests, including road blockades, demanding his recovery and raising their voice against his abduction. During a larger protest on March 3 and 4, concerning the enforced disappearance of nearly 50 individuals from Kalat, Abdul Malik’s family also raised their demand before the negotiation team. In response, the district administration requested a 15-day period to resolve the matter.
However, after several months of struggle, hope, and continued protest, the family was left with the devastating outcome, the return of a lifeless body
