Shal (Monitoring Desk): The central spokesperson of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) stated in a press release that Balochistan has become a “black hole” in terms of information. Since 1948, the Baloch people have been deprived of their fundamental human rights. Despite the region’s vast natural resources, its inhabitants are denied not only their national rights but also basic necessities, lack of control over their own lives, the threat of losing their identity on their own land, no rights over their resources and coastline, food shortages, lack of clean water, and the militarization of educational institutions are just a few examples.
The spokesperson stated that whenever the Baloch people attempted to raise their voices for their national rights and against state oppression, they were brutally silenced. The cycle of enforced disappearances was initiated, mutilated bodies were used to spread fear, death squads were created to carry out targeted killings and political voices were suppressed through enforced disappearances and assassinations. Political parties were banned, but despite all these oppressive measures, the Baloch nation has never remained silent.
They further stated that the Baloch Yakjehti Committee represents these silenced voices. It is the voice of the collective suffering of the Baloch people, the guardian of Baloch rights, a beacon of hope for the common Baloch, and their true representative.
The spokesperson added that once again, attempts are being made to suppress the people’s voices. Mahrang, Sami, Bibarg, and Bebo are the voices of this nation—they can be imprisoned, but they cannot be silenced.
Finally, he announced that in response to the crackdown against BYC and the attempt to suppress public voices, the organization is launching an awareness campaign titled “Silencing the Unheard.” The purpose of this campaign is to inform the world that this repression is not just against BYC but an effort to silence the collective voice of the Baloch nation. “The world must hear our struggle and the atrocities committed against us because this is not just a fight for survival, but a battle for justice and human rights.”
