Following the Pakistan Army’s adoption of a hardline policy, the use of force against human rights activists and unarmed civilians in Balochistan commenced immediately. In recent days, the Pakistan Army has escalated its ruthless campaign, abducting and forcibly disappearing political leaders, human rights defenders, doctors, and scientists in a calculated effort to strip the Baloch nation of its intellectual core.
Today, peaceful protesters once again faced gunfire from Pakistani forces. Direct attacks by the Army and police claimed the lives of three demonstrators—martyrs of this ongoing struggle—while leaving seven others wounded.
This so-called “hard policy” is not a recent development; it has shaped the Army’s stance toward the Baloch for 77 relentless years. Enforced disappearances trace back to 1948, with killings and military assaults persisting unabated since March 27, 1948. The Baloch have never known a gentler approach from the Pakistan Army. Yet, despite decades of unrelenting oppression, these savage tactics have failed to shatter the unyielding spirit of the Baloch nation.
We unequivocally condemn this barbaric atrocity and call for immediate international action to halt this brutal onslaught.
