Geneva, Switzerland. March 2025: Representatives of the Baloch National Movement’s Human Rights Organization PAANK activists raised grave concerns over Pakistan’s widespread human rights violations in Balochistan during the 58th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in Geneva. The representatives called for urgent international intervention to address the ongoing enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings and mass displacements in the region.
Paank Media Coordinator, Jamal Baloch, delivered a compelling speech at the session, highlighting the systematic persecution of the Baloch people by the Pakistan Army and its affiliated militias.
He Mentioned, To bring urgent attention to the human rights crisis in Balochistan, where enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings and mass displacements have become a tragic norm.
He further emphasized that activists, journalists and ordinary citizens in Balochistan continue to face severe oppression for demanding their fundamental rights and self-determination.
Jamal Baloch also mentioned China’s role in the economic and military exploitation of Balochistan through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
“Under the pretext of development, Balochistan has been transformed into a militarized zone. Local populations are forcibly displaced to make way for foreign projects that benefit only the occupying forces.
He called on the United Nations to launch an independent investigation into human rights violations in Balochistan and to hold China accountable for aiding Pakistan in its systematic oppression of the Baloch people.

Another BNM representative, Jawahir Baloch, condemned the Pakistan Army-backed death squads that have been orchestrating mass abductions and extrajudicial killings in Balochistan.
She cited documented cases of enforced disappearances, including the abduction of a young Baloch woman, Asma Baloch and the extrajudicial execution of Baloch scholar, Allah Dad Baloch.
These are not random incidents; they are part of a sinister strategy designed to silence Baloch voices demanding independence,” she declared.
She further called for a UN-led independent investigation to document crimes, identify perpetrators and ensure justice for the victims and their families.
Both BNM representatives urged the United Nations and the global community to take immediate action against Pakistan’s war crimes in Balochistan and to prevent further state-sponsored violence and demographic changes in the region. The international community must not remain silent while an entire nation is being erased through military aggression and demographic engineering.
