The Chairman of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), Dr. Naseem Baloch, responded to the US Embassy in Islamabad on the social media platform X, stating that Pakistan has closed all democratic avenues for the Baloch people. In Balochistan, leaders of the BNM and other organizations, who have been struggling peacefully, have either been killed, gone underground, or forced into exile.
This morning, Pakistani forces abducted and forcibly disappeared Baloch Yakjehti Committee member and human rights activist Gulzadi Baloch solely due to her political activism. Although she was released after being detained for hours, her abduction sends a clear message of state terrorism.
Dr. Naseem Baloch expressed deep concern over the US Embassy presenting Pakistan’s state narrative while ignoring the severe human rights violations in Balochistan. He stated that Pakistan, which portrays itself as a democracy to the world, is involved in enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and other brutal war crimes in Balochistan.
He urged the US and the international community to reject Pakistan’s fabricated claims and false narratives. Instead, they should recognize the Baloch people’s right to self-determination and fulfill their responsibility to ensure justice and peace.
