Hub (Monitoring Desk)
In a statement released to the media, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) Lasbela Region announced a complete shutter down strike in Hub on Monday, March 3, in protest against the arrest of Baloch women by Pakistani security forces. The committee urged traders and the general public to support the strike and join the ongoing sit-in at Hub Bhawani.
The use of force against peaceful protesters, stating that the oppression by state institutions and intelligence agencies cannot deter Baloch mothers and sisters from their struggle. Baloch mothers are prepared to fight till the last moment for the recovery of their loved ones.
The families of enforcedly disappeared persons have been staging a sit-in in Hub Bhawani for the past four days, demanding the safe return of their loved ones. Instead of addressing their grievances, security forces and police used force to disperse the peaceful protesters, arresting Seema Baloch, Mazib Baloch and several others. Their whereabouts remain unknown and no information has been provided about their condition.
The BYC called on the business community and the public to stand in solidarity with the families of missing persons. We urge all traders to support the strike and participate in the sit-in at Hub Bhawani.
